Back to School Mural; Behind the Scenes

So I'm just a few short days back from a fun trip to Texas when I realize we're torpedoing into Halloween territory.  Any San Franciscan worth their salt in bio bags has a good nature toward Halloween, with costumes and spook spilling out of every corner of town.  Before I prep Q's walls with ghostly decor, I wanted to highlight September's "Back to School" mural.

The idea was simple: kids marching to the bus, upset; parents cheering.  I rumbled around with exactly how I wanted to do this, and as you can see I think the end result is a good combination of all these drafts;

UPDATES and Shake Downs

Another grey San Franciscan summer has bloomed toward the fall.  Between a great flow of new faces in Q Restaurant, visiting family and a trip or two, I've sat and stewed on quite a few drawings that are making their way up and out.  But in the middle of all my dubious scanning, I receive an email from Mr. Urban Quint, my 7th Grade Biology teacher from Rifle Middle School.  Having recently run into my parents, Mr. Quint felt compelled to sent me a photo of a poster I crafted for him in 7th grade, still in his possession:
